Welcome to your insider resource for insights on new homes in Santa Rosa!
Bookmark this page for updates! We are delighted to bring you Carlile Place, a niche new home community on the slopes of Fountaingrove in Northeast Santa Rosa. Christopherson Builders has a proud legacy of fine home building in Sonoma County and beyond. Carlile Place is a special location for our team as it marks the first new home community we have brought to the Sonoma County market in over 7 years.
Exciting news! The first completed home will open for touring in March 2025!
Impeccably located near The Fountaingrove Club, the serene 6-acre area is to become the home of 13 new #Christophersonbuilt luxury homes. The tree-lined hillside is to be preserved, and the parcels are spacious in size, ranging from 1/5 of an acre up to almost 3/4 of an acre in size. Several of the properties will back up to green space, and all of the future new homes have been designed to make the most of the terrain and to live as comfortably and privately as possible.
Christopherson Builders intentionally and thoughtfully plans every community that we bring to market.
There is no “cookie-cutter” approach to building a Christopherson home. We want to ensure that every home that we build will not only be a trusted home carrying the Christopherson name, but will have the highest degree of curb appeal, livability and potential resale value of any home in the marketplace.
A small but important example is illustrated in the fact that homes may be slightly turned on a lot, or windows are intentionally planned to be located in different places in order to provide both privacy to the homeowners, as well as an air of distinction to the neighborhood.
All 13 homes within the niche community have been approved and planned for each individual lot. This means that the home elevations (or styles) and the exterior design materials and color boards have been selected as part of the planning & approval process. An interactive map will show you specifically which home elevators will be built on which lot. Eventually, as we get closer to releasing these homes for sale, more information will be added per property.
While home exteriors are set, home buyers have a wonderful opportunity to personalize your home to your individual style. Our professional design team has curated a wide variety of options from flooring to cabinets to lighting and more to choose from. Those who reserve one of our 13 new luxury homes will have the ability to personalize their future home with assistance from our Design Studio Manager, and our home buyers will also be welcomed to an invitation-only, personal interior design online portal where choices may be explored and made. Invitations to the Design Studio portal will be extended upon home reservation.
Options for personalization will depend upon how far along the home is in its construction.
If a home is close to completion there will be much fewer choices, if any. However if a home has not yet broken ground, odds are quite good that the majority (if not all) of the home options may be selected by you!
Of the 13 homes, only two will be a single-level home design. This is due to the natural topographic slope of the land, but is also the reason there are often great views to be had in Fountaingrove. The eleven 2-story homes offer multi-generational living options, with a dual primary bedroom on the main level of each home.
Respecting the natural beauty of the land, Managing Partner Brenda Christopherson together with our architectural team at Farrell Faber & Associates, have designed five new homes specifically for Carlile Place. Brenda brings her wealth of knowledge and intuitive understanding of how a home will actually live for its future residents, and is able to apply that vision to achieve beautiful, comfortable homes that look and feel as good in person as they do on paper.
The homes at Carlile Place have already broken ground. Christopherson Builders is now building 5 of the 13 homes, and the first two homes will be completed in early 2025. The remaining homes are to follow shortly in their stead, along with the installation of a pleasantly curved cul-de-sac access road aptly named Carlile Place.
Carlile Place – what’s in a name?
The name Carlile place is a nod to Dick & Lynne Carlile. Dick is one of the founders of Carlile Macy who has had an enormous impact on our local community. We are proud to honor Dick & Lynne’s legacy of immense contribution to the success of the North Bay building industry. Dick has been an esteemed partner for over four decades.
It would be a fair assessment to say Civil Engineer Richard Carlile has been a key principal in drawing much of the map of Sonoma County.
Dick was instrumental in the civil engineering, land usage and planning the developments of Sea Ranch, Oakmont, Skyhawk plus many other sought-after new home communities of Northern California. In 1979, Dick’s firm landed a contract to design a large planned community project known as Fountaingrove Ranch. The community was to include a championship golf course, with mix of residences and commercial property. A later expansion to Fountaingrove saw the eastern creation of Fountaingrove II.
In addition to designing Fountaingrove, including the Parkway, Dick & Lynne have both volunteered countless hours serving on a various boards & committees, all aimed toward the betterment, historic preservation and conservation of Northern California and the Santa Rosa community in particular. Dick & Lynne Carlile purchased a brick building in Historic Railroad Square in 1996. Today that same building, once a railroad storage facility for freight & hops, is now lovingly restored and is the home of engineering firm Carlile – Macy.
In the naming of Carlile Place, we are thankful to be able to offer a small testament to the years of time, energy and heart Lynne & Dick have brought to our community. Their inspirational work and dedication to service has helped to create a home for hundreds of thousands of Santa Rosans.
Thank you Lynne & Dick. Our hats are off to you.
