Choosing to Rebuild After the 2017 Sonoma County Wildfires

In January the Press Democrat wrote a piece about how we’re helping with the rebuilding efforts after the Sonoma County wildfires of 2017. The Press Democrat explained how and why we decided to get back into residential building after focusing on our real estate brokerage business for the last decade, because this is our home town and we felt compelled to help our friends and neighbors pick up after the fires. The fires had such a widespread impact on our beloved community.  We’re fortunate many of our former team members joined us once again to form a strong team so we are able to help the those affected by the fire storms, both involving Christopherson-built homes, and other, get their lives and houses built again.

Previously, during the height of our residential construction business, we were doing a lot of building and we oversaw plans for entire sub-divisions and housing communities. In our time, we’ve constructed over 6,500 homes, with nearly 5,000 of those located in the North Bay. Going back to our roots and getting to meet with people hoping to rebuild or build newly designed plans is different, and we’re enjoying it very much.

Choosing to Rebuild After the 2017 Sonoma County Wildfires

As Keith Christopherson states in the linked article, “In this environment, clients are so appreciative. It’s so gratifying to solve problems for them. The reward is powerful.”

In our approach toward rebuilding the many communities in Fountaingrove, Upper Hidden Valley, Coffey Park, Mark West Estates, and beyond, we think it’s most important to make the process as streamlined and painless as possible for our clients. Those who lost their homes in the fires have already been through so much, so we want to make sure they can get back into a home they love as soon as possible. We have more than 30 pre-approved, master planned home designs ready to build so the permitting process takes much less time. We also work with clients who wish to buy and sell their homes and lots, and we’ve had several clients come in to purchase a lot in the affected areas for a custom home, which we’re happy to facilitate.

More than anything else, we’re here to support our community through this difficult time in whatever way we can, and we are so fortunate to have a passionate team who feel the same way. A lot of our employees heard the call to come back to Santa Rosa to help rebuild the community, and they did. Some of our associates moved back from where they’d been doing their own work or left other jobs in order to get back to their roots and rebuild, and that’s a level of loyalty and love you can’t find just anywhere. We’re so proud to work with this team!

If you’re looking to rebuild, you can call on Christopherson Builders. Our goal is to give you less to worry about while ensuring you get back into the home you lost or the new home of your dreams. We have many home designs available to build now or you can choose to purchase a lot and custom home through us. Whatever you need, we’re here to help get you back home!
